Character background:
Jake was born in Dublin, Ireland, to Eric and Linda Mendelind. At age 11, he was sorted into Gryffindor House, no doubt because of his remarkable courage and equal recklessness. In school, he got into a lot of fights and served more detentions than he could count. He has always been a rowdy individual, and is ruthless to his opponents, no matter if it's a serious duel or just a friendly game of chess. When he graduated from Hogwarts, excelling in most subjects, he considered becoming an Auror, but found the prospect of leaving Hogwarts difficult to deal with.
Applying for a job, he was rejected, on account of being too young. Feeling dejected, he started traveling the world, not really caring about the troubles brewing, or the wizarding wars, until he returned to Hogwarts in 2022, and once more applied for the Transfiguration post, now a Master Duelist. This time, he was given the job, and has now moved into the castle, living there during the school years, and at his parents' old home during the summer.
Recently, Jake handed in his resignation as Transfiguration Professor, and instead took a job as the School Counselor. He also took an interest in the Dueling Club, and so took the position of Teacher.
