Lesson One: Sixth years Empty

Nadia was nervous, the girl had never taught before. There was always a first for everything, right? A small sigh escaped her lipstick covered lips. She would give anything to be dancing right now, to be there up on stage, her body floating around weightlessly. But alas, a severely injured ankle left her with no other option but to pick up a new profession. The ballerina could still dance, but not as intensely as she was before.

Her small dancer's body frame sat on a chair behind her desk that she had conjured up, looking over her class roster. There was a Nina Arnaut, a Patrick O'Faylan, an Anastasia Marwolathe and the list continued.

After conjuring up one wide, long table and seats all around it, she patiently waited for the class to arrive.

Staz was early to this class, and seemingly the only one who bothered to show up. Shrugging, she immediately went towards the back of the room but stopped short when she realized that there were no desks at the back of the room. Nor exactly a room, because they were in a forest. Cursing her sleepiness softly, she headed up to the only piece of furniture around there, the table. "Morning Professor." She greeted as she sat at the far end of the table, wondering what they were going to do today.

Since the Professor seemed new and this was the First Lesson of the year, Staz had high hopes, even if she didn't really like Herbology.

Lesson One: Sixth years Empty

Nina had been the second one in the classroom, and was rather bored, again. Why did she have to spend so much time in class rather than outside not giving a damn about her lessons, or rather in her room, where she could silently stare at the ceiling without anybody stopping her and questioning her. She arrived, and stood opposite the first girl, not liking it that there weren't really any chairs or anything else to sit on. No surprise there; it was a forest after all.

She echoed Staz with the 'Morning, Professor', and waited for everybody else. It seemed that just ten minutes after they had both walked in and were ready for class to start, everyone else started arriving also. Not even five minutes later, the class was filled with students who all seemed to want to start and end this thing as quickly as possible. That didn't surprise Nina much either; Herbology was a really boring lesson; it was a wonder she had picked it in the first place! It was better than doing whatever it was that was taught the same time as Herbology was though.

Nadia looked around the greenhouse that served as their classroom, smiling at all her students. She called out the names on the list and checked them all off, everyone was present in class, save for a Patrick O'Faylan. Hopefully he wasn't lost, she thought. The Ukrainian-American certainly got lost where ever she was going. Then again, she hadn't even gone to this school; everything was all new to her.

It was now or never. Her slender arms pulled out a bag and dumped the contents on the table. Out from the bag fell what looked like rat tails. But there was something odd to them, they were a grayish-green. Not only was the colour off, but they looked slimy. The bundle was all connected together.

Trying to ignore the smell and attempting to keep the smile on her face, she spoke, "alright, now, can anyone tell me where the native range of the Gillyweed is?"
