Slim fingers skimmed the Black Lakes' surface, gray eyes wide and intrigued when an eye peered up at her before it disappeared as quickly as it appeared.  She giggled softly. It seems the rumors of mermaids in the lake were true... unless.... Her eyebrows shot up at the tentacle that breached the otherwise calm water.

Well then. She calmly stood from her crouched position. "That explained many..." Her expression went blank. "Many things." Eerie shook her head. Actually, this lake would be one of the most normalist- was that a word?- things here. Her nose scrunched up. "Okay. So maybe mermaids and a giant squid the size of a building didn't technically count as normal." But it was worth the thought.

"Isn't there a spell for gills... Or was that a potion ingredient." It was probably the potions ingredient. If you had been in any of her classes, then you would've seen just how horrible she was. Somehow, a First Year could make better potions than her, something that made Eerie want to pull her hair out. But was it her fault the cauldron always felt the need to explode when she was near? Was it?

She gazed back out over the lake, the lone tentacle waving at her forlornly, as if guessing she didn't want to wave back. And, in a surprising move, she lifted her hand in a slight side to side movement, something that a normal human wouldn't take as a wave. But this was a giant squid. It splashed the water playfully, before it submerged again, leaving Eerie to feel a small bit lonely.

"There's a light at each end of this tunnel,
You shout 'cause you're just as far in as you'll ever be out."

She sang softly, blond bangs covering her face as her face spelled its way across the small clearing. Not beautiful or captivating, but clear and bell like by the way it rang pure. At the last line, she sighed, a huff escaping her lips. "And the boredom continues." She called quite ominously, sinking back into the soft grass that provided an excellent view of the lake. Sigh.

Garrus wandered around the school in his spare time trying to avoid the monogamous feeling of constant studying and assignments, and what better a place then his favourite location Hogwarts had to offer the Black lake.

He walked slowly along the lakes banks and occasionally skimmed the pebbles in his left palm with his right across the otherwise serenely calm lake. Despite coming here every year since he started school in 1st year, what feels like decades ago, he's never once seen any of the alleged mermaids that were supposedly sighted at times in the lake

Garrus had been walking for a while and had run out of pebbles considering returning to Hogwarts great hall to see if any of his Gryffindor peers would like to play chess etc, but the thought of winning and listening to moaning claims of cheating turned him off those thoughts.

Garrus stopped and took a deep breath and quietened his mind looking out across the and then to the grass behind where he could have sworn he could here someone talking but there was no one around as far as he could tell. He walked towards where he thought he heard a voice only to stumble over something ... or someone..

Sheparrrrrrd! Wanna drink? I'm toasting Miranda, I think.

How are you getting drunk?

Verrrry carefully. Turian brandy, triple-filtered, then introduced into the suit through an emergency induction port.

..That's a straw, Tali.

Emerrrgency induction port!!.

Her ears perked up, hearing the sounds of soft plops being made. It was coming from a little behind her, a few yards away. She cocked her head to the side, blond bangs falling to the side as she stood- curious. Who would be out here at a time like this? The weather was horrid. Cold. And windy. Which is why she had a heating charm placed haphazardly on her jacket. Haphazardly because it was made when she was hurrying out the door.

Leina was chasing her, telling Eerie she needed to ask that Slytherin boy out or something. Hello? Leina? Slytherin- Hufflepuff. Where do you see the chemistry in that?

Eerie sighed once more, looking up in surprise, slightly startled to see who it was... She scratched her cheek. She knew the boy was a year younger than her, but not to know his name? It wasn't like there were that many students in Hogwarts. So... erm... it started with a 'G' she knew that much. And if the red and yellow neck tie was any example, the boy was a Gryffindor.

"Hello?" Her voice came out before she could stop it, slightly breathy from the cold air. And, much to her disgust, sounded too much like that empty head blond in her dorm.
